It’s always the best high abv beers that lead to the worst low behavior. So some of this was left on a sidewalk in Brooklyn, but that said, I was happy to have the experience of drinking it. Had on tap at a distributor event (S.K.I.) at the Blind Tiger Ale House in the West Village. There was a sixtel of it and that thing flowed freely.
Appearance: Solid and thick and dark. Nice initial head and it sustains well too. Great lacing.
Smell: I’ve had the GI BCS, and thought this might have a similarly overwhelming aroma, except of Canadian Whiskey instead of Bourbon. I was pleasantly surprised, because the aroma was present but not too powerful. The general coffee, chocolately stout smell could still come through.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, rich, and lovely.
Drinkability: Except for the high abv that prevents it from being a session beer, this is a mighty tasty treat to enjoy fully.
Serving type: on-tap
