Review: Goose Island Pere Jacques

Drink Date: 8/24/2010
Review Date: 10/31/2010
Grade: B+ (3.85 out of 5)

Review from notes. Had it bottled at Amity Hall on my first passport night. Thanks, Salina (previously called her Maya… woops).

It’s an amber color with solid but not impressive head. About the lacing you’d expect from a dubbel. Smell has floral notes and fruit but it’s not strong. Maybe some figs. Taste follows the smell but with more fruit. It’s tart, sweet, and it’s big in the palate. Feels great too.

It’s almost like a wine, and it hangs in the mouth. I dig it, but it’s not one to drink a lot of. Would be a bit much. I bet it’s great paired with the right meal though.
