Had this on tap at the brewery back at the end of August on my Dogfish trip. Reviewing it from notes.
I actually wasn’t a huge fan of this one. As much as I loved the trip, this was a bit underwhelming. Overly sweet nose is what you notice. Figgy maybe. Sweet. That smell sits on top of the amber beer, which is good because there’s not much head. It’s a dark ale that runs smooth through the mouth, but you do notice the alcohol. The mouth does sustain nicely as it goes down though, as there’s plenty of carbonation. Overall it was a great first taster, but nothing I’d come back to.
Unless presented with a Miller Lite sans vortex.
