Thanks for the extra, OakedCanuck! This one made its way to me in Brooklyn by way of New England to Texas. Enjoying it while skipping on my schoolwork, because I really don’t understand the assignment.
On the pour from the can I could smell this hag without sniffing. She stinks of hops. Unfortunately, kind of like patchouli, the hops chosen – noble and cascade – are not my bag. The herbal and extra bitter notes stick through the nose into the taste. It’s somewhat balanced by caramel malts, but the end taste is just hop bitterness.
It’s balanced in the mouth, and honestly the carbonation is fine – it helps with the murky amber appearance and keeps nice lacing alive throughout the drink. It’s just not that fun a drink.
